Ebola virus, named after the Ebola River where an outbreak occurred in 1976. Specifically the outbreak was centered in Yambuku, a small village in Mongala Province in northern Democratic Republic of the Congo (formerly called Zaire). With W. Jacob, P. Piot, and G. Courteille.
